Saint Xavier High School in Bungoma, Kenya, is the newest Xaverian Brothers school. Beginning in 2018, it has grown to be nationally recognized for its ability to educate boys for future success. As this school is primarily mission-based, its needs are significant. The Xaverian Brothers work hard to make education possible for as many students as possible because they know the transformative power that education can have on their lives.
Any amount that you can donate will have a transformative impact. For example, here is a brief list of expenses at the school.
- $1000 Monthly food expenses
- $500 Total cost of tuition
- $200 Covers the cost of school fees
- $150 Monthly Teacher’s Salary
- $50 Cost of a student’s uniform
- $10 Weekly cost of lunch
- $1 feeds 100 local homeless boys
As you can see, even a small donation will have a considerable impact.
In the region, the Xaverian Brothers are a beacon of hope. They operate temporary housing for local homeless and orphaned boys. At that center, they provide medical attention, social workers, education, and recovery treatment. Several times a week, Brothers go into town and provide meals and assistance to local homeless children and regularly serve hundreds of people. More broadly, neighbors frequently visit the Brothers for prayer support, rides to the hospital, and fellowship.
In the Fundamental Principles of the Xaverian Brother, the Founder, Theodore James Ryken, wrote:
Gradually, you will realize that the cost of your discipleship is your very life, freely consecrated to God and offered to the world as a sign of God’s love and care. The gift you have received give as a gift.
This is the mission of the Xaverian Brothers. They offer their lives to the world, in loving service for the world. May their lives of love and service inspire our world. And may you consider giving the gifts that you have received as a gift to the Xaverian Brothers.
